OPPORTUNITIES

What Opportunities does IIE Chapter 1 provide to its members?  Perhaps the best answer is in why I joined IIE moreover why I started attending events.  For sure, my reasons may be similar to yours but not the same.  The bottom line is, as your president, I need to understand what Opportunities Chapter 1 needs to offer to meet your interests.

It seems our leadership team is all about creating Opportunities for our members.  Opportunities to serve (become an officer), to meet other IE’s (dinner events) and IE students (Schmoozes), to benchmark (plant tours events), and to learn (speaker events).  We plan all this with a Calendar of Key Events with special emphasis on E-V-E-N-T-S.

My membership in IIE moreover Chapter 1 represents my need to meet other IE’s.  The activity or topic Opportunities are secondary to networking.  Over the years I started serving Chapter 1 as treasurer and now president.

But what is your reason for joining IIE?  Moreover, what would stir your interest in being active with Chapter 1?  It’s all about event Opportunities that interest you.  Your interests are not the same as mine and the interest of our 100 plus members are not all the same.  So, how do we create Opportunities that create within you a desire to attend our events?

As your president if I knew the “ultimate” answer to that question we would have the largest, most active, Opportunistic chapter within IIE.   But, for now, I will work with our leadership team to continue to fill our Calendar of Key Events with Opportunities that you can choose to attend. 

In closing, perhaps the best s-o-l-u-t-i-o-n is to offer all Chapter 1 members an Opportunity to host your own event.  If you would like to host an event please contact me with your event idea and we’ll work with you to make it happen.
